Ethics and Integrity Policy

Emissions

Waste
We are committed to Cleaner Production (in Portuguese, Produção Mais Limpa – PmaisL) policies, which aim to optimize resources and reduce waste generation. Most of our waste is reused or transformed into raw materials primarily intended for agricultural use.
Water and Effluents
The conscious use of the natural resource WATER is vital for our operations. We work with direct recycling of baths (liming and tanning), use of biodegradable chemicals, concentrated baths, and reduced washing to minimize the amount of water used and the generation of effluents.
Restricted Substances in Our Products
The inputs used in our production are evaluated according to our Chemical Product Procurement Policy to ensure that our products comply with national and international legislation and meet our customers’ requirements regarding the content and use of restricted substances.

Hydrolyzed Protein
We produce hydrolyzed protein from the treatment of wet blue leather shavings, a product that can be primarily used as a raw material in the fertilizer industry. By transforming waste that would otherwise be discarded into a valuable input, we reduce waste and maximize the efficiency of our resources.
Restoration of
Degraded Areas
We partner with nurseries and other entities to provide native seedlings to be planted primarily in degraded areas along watercourses. Since 2016, more than 9,000 seedlings have been planted, representing the recovery of approximately 43 hectares.

We use a system with cutting-edge technologies to ensure the monitoring of raw materials from their origin to the delivery of the final product.
Geomonitoring for Compliance and Traceability: For over a decade, we have been working to ensure the traceability of the hides we purchase. We use a georeferencing system that frequently checks the compliance of supplier farms with socio-environmental criteria, in accordance with our Traceability and Raw Material Procurement Policy. This system ensures the responsible origin of the raw materials used in our products.
